Ishani Singal is one of the three Indian girls playing in the WMSG. She is 14 years old and has been playing draughts for half a year. She and the other two girls, Parwaan Sohi and Jasleen Kaur, have to accept many losses against the far more experienced players. Her teacher at school drew her attention to this board game in April of this year. ‘It is a good game and you have many possibilities to grow into it’, her teacher told her. The school is very co-operative and supports her participation in the Games by giving her the opportunity to take extra lessons and have postponed her tests until after she returns to Chandigash, India.

Ishani likes analyzing, and that is what she does in Beijing. For her attending this tournament is all about learning and improving her draughts skill. The girls are working hard on expanding the draughts sport in India. They expect to have a bigger organisation in 3 or 4 years.
